Job summary

La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee the complete payroll function for our California operations.

You will manage end-to-end processing, ensure statutory compliance, and collaborate closely with Human Resources, Finance, and site managers to support accurate payroll and budgeting. Competent in Workday HCM and payroll reporting, you will lead a payroll team, maintain records, and uphold confidentiality while contributing to a positive, service-oriented work

Qualifications

• Experience using Workday HCM, including updating employee data, running audits, generating reports, terminations, and supporting payroll integrations.
• Must have previous experience managing employees.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and/or four to five years of payroll experience; Workday HRIS experience required.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of payroll laws; strong Excel/HRIS skills and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Lead full payroll cycle and ensure accurate, timely processing.
• Supervise Payroll Specialist with guidance and quality oversight.
• Maintain accurate employee payroll records with HR and department leaders.
• Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, tax requirements, and internal controls.
• Manage payroll adjustments, bonuses, reimbursements, and garnishments.
• Process service charges and gratuities; provide payroll reports to Finance Director.
• Safeguard payroll confidentiality and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
