Job summary

CFS is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations for 1,000+ employees in a growing organization. You will own end-to-end payroll accuracy, compliance, and process improvements while partnering with HR, Finance, and Operations.

The role involves overseeing complex earnings like commissions and retroactive pay, and supporting the transition to UKG and future enhancements. This is a hands-on, visible position with strategic impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll experience in large employee populations.
• Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, tax reporting, and FMLA/Workers' comp.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for reporting and data analysis.
• Experience with UKG HRIS or similar payroll systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage and process payroll for 1,000+ employees with accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee payroll compliance, tax reporting, and related regulatory requirements.
• Administer complex earnings including commissions, bonuses, retroactive pay, stipends, and other variable compensation.
• Coordinate with HR and leadership to improve payroll processes and support system implementations (UKG).

Key Responsibilities For The Payroll Manager

• Manage and process payroll for 1,000+ employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee payroll compliance, payroll tax reporting, and related regulatory requirements.
• Administer complex earnings including commissions, bonuses, retroactive pay, stipends, and other variable compensation.
• Manage workers' compensation, leave administration, and payroll-related compliance matters, including FMLA.
• Utilize advanced Excel reporting and analysis to reconcile payroll data and support business needs.
• Partner with HR and leadership to improve payroll processes and support system implementations, including UKG.

Qualifications For The Payroll Manager

• 5+ years of payroll experience processing payroll for large employee populations (1,000+ employees preferred).
• Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, workers' compensation, FMLA, and payroll tax regulations.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including reporting, reconciliation, and data analysis.
• Experience handling complex payroll environments with commissions, variable compensation, and manual payroll processes.
• Experience with UKG, HRIS, or payroll system implementations is highly preferred.
