Job summary

Adecco Portugal is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager in Richmond, VA to lead multi-state payroll operations for a growing organization. This hands-on leadership role ensures payroll accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely reporting.

You will manage taxes, deductions, year-end processes, and audits, while coaching a payroll team and partnering with HR, Finance, and Operations to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on payroll experience, including multi-state payroll.
• 3+ years of payroll leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and payroll compliance.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with payroll systems; Paycom experience preferred.
• CPP certification preferred.

We're seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations for a growing multi-state organization. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for payroll accuracy, compliance, payroll tax administration, process improvement, and team development.

Responsibilities

• Manage and process multi-state payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Oversee payroll taxes, deductions, garnishments, and year-end reporting.
• Lead payroll audits, reconciliations, and process improvements.
• Manage payroll systems and timekeeping processes.
• Coach and develop payroll team members.
