Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including union workforce exposure.
• Experience with ADP WorkforceNow and payroll systems.
• Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll processing, taxes, and wage/hour rules.
• Demonstrated history of payroll process improvements and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP) and reconciliation reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll across multiple entities and employee populations.
• Ensure payroll taxes, wage and hour compliance, and payroll accounting accuracy.
• Resolve complex payroll issues and drive process improvements.
• Strengthen controls and optimize payroll operations.
• Collaborate with finance and HR to ensure accurate and timely payroll submissions.

Job description

Expected Salary Range: $85,000–$110,000, commensurate with experience

A family-owned real estate and hospitality company based out of NYC is seeking an experienced Payroll Manger. This is a dynamic, high-trust role that is responsible for the end-to-end management of payroll across multiple company entities and employee populations. This is a strictly in-office position; remote work will not be considered.

Our ideal candidate is a proactive payroll leader who can independently resolve complex issues, strengthen controls, and improve processes beyond transactional payroll administration.

• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, at least some of which involved a union workforce
• Must have experience with ADP WorkforceNow
• Strong understanding of multi-state payroll processing, payroll taxes, wage and hour requirements, and payroll accounting
• Demonstrated experience leading payroll process improvements and implementing operational efficiencies
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, and reconciliation reporting
• Experience supporting hourly workforce across both real estate and hospitality sectors strongly preferred
