Job summary

CFS is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead the full payroll lifecycle, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance from onboarding through year-end processing. This role partners with finance leadership on strategy, reporting, and process improvements, and will help navigate a major ERP/payroll system transition.

The position offers visibility across the organization, opportunities to drive efficiencies, and involvement in reconciliations, audits, and system enhancements.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive full-cycle payroll experience, including payroll leadership responsibilities.
  • Government, municipal, or public sector payroll experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll tax filings, reconciliations, compliance, and payroll accounting.
  • Experience with payroll systems, ERP conversions, and process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage full-cycle payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Review payroll records, timesheets, earnings, deductions, and tax reporting.
  • Manage payroll tax filings, payments, reconciliations, and payroll-related general ledger accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve complex payroll issues, discrepancies, and benefit reconciliations.
  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries, reporting, and support audit activities.
  • Lead payroll process improvements, documentation, and ERP/payroll system conversion efforts.
