Staco Electric Construction Co is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to support payroll administration in a union construction environment, focusing on CBAs, certified payroll, and multi-state workforce management. Qualifications

  • 3+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a union construction environment.
  • Strong knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and multi-union reporting and compliance.
  • Experience with certified payroll reporting (Davis-Bacon, eComply, LCPTracker, eBacon) and prevailing wage requirements.
  • Experience with construction ERP, labor job costing and processing in-house payroll.
  • Experience with ComputerEase and/or Access Coins is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly in-house payroll for union and non-union employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with CBAs.
  • Ensure timely remittance of all tax withholdings and returns for federal, state, and local taxes.
  • Ensure timely remittance of employee deductions including 401K, child support, and garnishments.
  • Preparation, reconciliation, and remittance of union deductions and fringes in accordance with applicable CBAs.
  • Manage certified payroll reporting and ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws including weekly submission through eComply, eBacon, LCPTracker and Davis-Bacon.
  • Lead annual W-2 reporting process and upload to Federal, State and Local sites.
  • Maintain employee records, including pre-employment screening, tax forms, benefits enrollment, reviews, and disciplinary action.
  • Track and monitor employee compensation and bonus programs.
  • Assist with ERP transition with estimated go-live date of July 1, 2027.
  • Assist with 401k administration, reporting & compliance, as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
  • Support audits, reporting, and HR documentation as needed.
  • Collaborate with accounting and project management teams on labor costing and reporting.

As we continue to expand, we’re looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to support our team and help strengthen our people operations.

Role Description

The Payroll Manager will play a key role in supporting payroll administration within a union construction environment. This position requires someone who understands the complexities of union agreements, certified payroll, and multi-state construction workforce management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Processfully in-house weekly payroll for union and non-union employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs)
