Job summary

CFS in Fishers, IN is seeking an experienced Payroll Leader to own and optimize our payroll function. You will manage end-to-end payroll for multi-state staff, serve as the HRIS administrator, and drive accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the organization.

The role emphasizes improving processes, leveraging HRIS technology, and partnering with HR, Finance, and leadership to deliver high-quality payroll outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll experience, including leadership or management responsibilities.
• Experience with multi-state payroll processing and compliance.
• CPP certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for multi-state employees.
• Serve as the primary administrator for payroll and HRIS systems.
• Ensure payroll accuracy, tax compliance, and timely wage payments.
• Generate payroll, labor, and compliance reporting for leadership.
• Partner with HR and IT on HRIS enhancements and integrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for multi-state employees
• Serve as the primary administrator for payroll and HRIS systems
• Ensure payroll accuracy, tax compliance, and timely wage payments
• Generate payroll, labor, and compliance reporting for leadership
• Manage payroll audits, reconciliations, garnishments, and year-end processing
• Partner with HR and IT on HRIS enhancements, integrations, and system upgrades

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years of payroll experience, including leadership or management responsibilities
• Strong hands-on experience with HRIS and payroll platforms (ADP, UKG, Workday, Paycom, Ceridian, or similar)
• Knowledge of multi-state payroll processing, payroll taxes, and compliance regulations
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills with a process-improvement mindset
• CPP certification preferred but not required

Preferred Background

• Experience managing payroll for 300+ employees
• Strong understanding of HRIS data management, system implementations, and reporting analytics
• Ability to troubleshoot payroll and HRIS issues while providing exceptional internal customer support
