Job summary

The State of Washington's Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) FTAA team in Buckley, WA seeks a Fiscal Specialist 1 to support payroll and accounts payable, time and attendance processing, and local fund activities.

You will review transactions, ensure compliance, and collaborate with managers to resolve discrepancies; on-site work three days a week may include a 5% premium.

Qualifications

  • Three years of fiscal record-keeping experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to review transactions, apply policies, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Strong analytical thinking and data processing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll time and attendance transactions using HRMS and Leave Tracker.
  • Review, audit, and reconcile payroll, leave, and local fund records.
  • Process local fund transactions including deposits and disbursements.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll, leave, and local fund requirements.
  • Support accounts payable functions and manage financial transactions.
  • Provide guidance to managers and staff on time reporting and local fund processes.
  • Investigate issues, respond to inquiries, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor leave balances and eligibility for various programs.
  • Coordinate with internal teams on payroll and financial questions.
