Job summary

Ai2 is seeking a Payroll Lead to own end-to-end payroll for a distributed workforce across up to 20 US states and several countries via EOR partners. You’ll collaborate with People Operations and Finance to ensure accurate, on-time payroll and continuous process improvements.

You’ll build AI-assisted dashboards and drive payroll data analysis while maintaining audit-ready documentation and strict compliance across jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive payroll experience, including multi-state payroll ownership.
• Hands-on experience with modern payroll/HRIS platforms and system integrations.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP) and reconciliation.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and compliance.
• Strong collaborative and communication skills with deadline discipline.
• Experience in virtual or hybrid work environments.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end processing of biweekly multi-state US payroll (up to 20 states).
• Manage international payroll for 5-10 countries via EOR partners.
• Coordinate international employment changes with hiring managers and People Operations.
• Partner with People Operations on hires, transfers, terminations, benefits, and deductions.
• Maintain audit-ready payroll documentation and SOPs.
• Build AI-assisted payroll dashboards and lead data analysis projects.
