Job summary

CFS in St. Petersburg, FL is seeking a Payroll Lead & HRIS Operations professional to own end-to-end payroll across multiple states, ensure HRIS data integrity, and strengthen internal controls. You will partner with HR, Finance, Benefits and leadership to drive accuracy and compliance.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of payroll experience, strong GL and HRIS expertise, and a Bachelor's degree in a related field. CPP is a plus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on payroll experience across multiple states
• Strong GL experience including payroll accounting, reconciliations, journal entries and financial controls
• Advanced HRIS and payroll systems expertise, including reporting, audits, testing, and data management
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end multi-state payroll processing across multiple business units and legal entities
• Perform payroll-to-GL reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and month-end support
• Maintain HRIS data integrity through audits, data transactions, reporting, testing, and issue resolution
• Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations, filings, year-end processing, and audit requirements
• Partner with HR, Finance, Benefits, and business leaders to resolve issues and improve payroll and HRIS processes

Qualifications For The Payroll Lead & HRIS Operations

• CPP (Certified Payroll Processor) is a PLUS +
• 10+ years of hands‑on payroll experience managing complex, multi-state payroll environments
• Strong General Ledger (GL) experience, including payroll accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial controls
• Advanced HRIS and payroll systems expertise, including reporting, audits, testing, and data management
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field (or equivalent experience)
