You will be the go-to person for payroll and HR operations, navigating California labor compliance while improving day-to-day processes.

The role emphasizes hands-on payroll administration, strict confidentiality, and collaboration across HR and payroll tasks, with a focus on ADP Workforce Now and California wage/hour

Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of California labor laws and wage/hour compliance.
• Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now.
• CPP certification preferred, bilingual Spanish/English highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run biweekly payroll for ~50 employees using ADP Workforce Now with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Own day-to-day administration of ADP Workforce Now, including employee setup/updates.
• Review and correct employee timecards daily.
• Maintain compliance with California payroll and wage/hour requirements.
• Answer employee questions about pay, timecards, deductions, and policies.
• Support payroll-related accounting tasks and month-end reporting.
• Assist with onboarding/offboarding, records, benefits administration, and communications.
• Help draft job descriptions and improve recruitment processes.
• Create and maintain payroll/HR documentation and update employee handbook.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and tools across payroll and HR.

Sayva Solutions is partnering with a well-established, member-based organization in Los Angeles to identify a Payroll & HR Operations Specialist. This is a high-impact, hands-on role for someone who enjoys being the go-to person for payroll and HR operations, thrives in a fully onsite environment, and is confident navigating California labor compliance while improving day-to-day processes.

Salary Range: $75,000–$95,000

Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

• Run biweekly payroll for ~50 employees using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality.
• Own day-to-day administration of ADP Workforce Now (employee setup/updates and workflow support).
• Review and correct employee timecards daily
• Help maintain compliance with California payroll and wage/hour requirements (meal/rest breaks, overtime, final pay timing, wage statements, sick leave, etc.).
• Answer employee questions related to pay, timecards, deductions, and payroll policies with professionalism and discretion.
• Support payroll-related accounting tasks such as payroll journal entries, reconciliations, PTO accrual support, and month-end payroll reporting.
• Support HR operations including onboarding/offboarding, employee records, benefits administration support, and employee communications.
• Help draft and maintain job descriptions, support recruiting coordination, and assist with improving hiring processes.
• Create and maintain payroll/HR documentation (policies, procedures, workflows) and support employee handbook updates.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and internal service across payroll and HR operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll administration experience.
• Strong working knowledge of California labor laws and wage/hour compliance.
• Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a high level of confidentiality.
• Comfortable working fully onsite and interacting with employees across the organization.
• CPP certification preferred
• Bilingual Spanish/English proficiency highly preferred.
• ADP Workforce Now Comprehensive Services experience preferred
