Job summary

DPR Construction is seeking a Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate collection, review, and preparation of time and pay data for craft and administrative employees across assigned business units.

The role involves reviewing time entries for completeness, resolving discrepancies, and serving as a primary contact for payroll inquiries. You will coordinate with Shared Services Payroll and People Practices to support compliant payroll processing and timely issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
• 2-4 years of experience in payroll processing, timekeeping administration, or a related field.
• Experience supporting multi-state payroll environments, union agreements, or construction payroll practices preferred.
• CPP certification preferred.
• Successful background check required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, validates, and approves employee time entries across approved timekeeping systems to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission for payroll processing.
• Identifies and resolves discrepancies in time and pay data, including overtime, double time, and leave entries, prior to payroll submission.
• Serves as a primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries, providing guidance to craft and administrative employees and supporting issue resolution.
• Coordinates payroll corrections and adjustments with Shared Services Payroll, including processing updates and supporting resolution of pay-related issues.
• Supports payroll-related onboarding and offboarding activities, including system setup, tax elections, direct deposit, and timekeeping access.
• Ensures compliance with applicable payroll regulations, wage and hour requirements, union agreements, and company policies.
• Collaborates with field leadership, People Practices, and other cross-functional partners to support payroll readiness, employee movement, and operational alignment.
