Base pay range

Are you a payroll and tax compliance expert looking for an opportunity to lead and optimize processes in a dynamic, mission-driven firm? This remote firm is seeking a Payroll Director to oversee payroll operations, tax filings, and compliance efforts while driving strategic improvements. This role is pivotal in ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory adherence within a client-focused HR services model. Candidates with exceptional communication skills, previous experience working in a client-facing environment, and a deep understanding of payroll and tax process across multi-state fillings are encouraged to apply!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee payroll processing and tax submissions, ensuring compliance with multi-state regulations and tax laws.
  • File all tax forms and reports in a timely manner.
  • Manage and review all payroll changes, while keeping clients updated regarding changes being made to ensure understanding and accountability.
  • Conduct audits of payroll, benefits, and retirement contributions, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Resolve any errors or discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Lead projects to enhance payroll accuracy, such as leave management process improvements and payroll reconciliation strategies.
  • Oversee and maintain compliance with all relevant rules and regulations regarding payroll and benefits.
