Job summary

Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA seeks a Payroll Coordinator to support payroll processing and HRIS data management. This role reports to the Director of HRIS and Payroll Services and is focused on accurate data entry, timely payroll runs, and maintaining records.

Onsite initially, with potential hybrid after training, you will verify timesheets, resolve discrepancies, and answer employee pay questions while protecting confidential information.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in payroll and/or timekeeping management.
• Experience working with HRIS systems, Workday and/or symplr Workforce experience preferred.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail
• Proven experience in payroll, accounting, or administrative roles (preferred)
• Knowledge of payroll procedures, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Fosters strong relationships with peers and leaders.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Responsibilities

• Monitor employee attendance and track daily time entries
• Collect and verify employee timesheets and payroll data
• Reconcile discrepancies in hours worked, missed punches, or incorrect entries
• Track and maintain records of vacation, sick leave, and other paid or unpaid time off
• Investigate and resolve timekeeping and attendance discrepancies with employees and managers
• Ensure all time records are properly approved by supervisors before payroll processing
• Verify time-related adjustments such as retro pay, PTO corrections, and schedule changes
• Prepare payroll reports (earnings, deductions, taxes, leave balances)
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and correct errors
• Maximize technological capabilities to reduce manual processes
• Respond to employee questions about pay, deductions, and time records
• Audit timekeeping records to ensure compliance with company policies and labor laws
• Safeguard confidential employee and payroll information
