Description

Boulder County Community Services (CS) Department is seeking to hire a Payroll Coordinator. This position will assist the CS Personnel and Payroll Coordinator with all payroll tasks. Works with all employees and supervisors from all seven divisions of Community Services. We pride ourselves on being service-oriented and people-focused. Our work is characterized by a commitment to support and collaboration. We take our very detailed work seriously, but we believe in having fun and laughing when we can.

This is a full-time, benefited position working Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm. It is a remote position based at 3482 Broadway St., Boulder, CO. Under FLSA guidelines, this position is non-exempt (eligible for overtime).

Boulder County requires employees to reside in Colorado as of the first day of work.

Salary Range: $53,988.00 to $65,874.00 annually.

Employees receive an 80-hour vacation bank at hire, plus monthly accruals of vacation and medical leave. Boulder County offers extensive benefits, including pension contributions and potential eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).

Examples of Duties
  • Processing personnel action notices and payroll changes
  • Resolving payroll and timekeeping questions
  • Preparing payroll reports
  • Reviewing and entering data in Dimensions
  • Assisting with employee scheduling and labor account changes
  • Performing timecard reviews and reconciliation
  • Coordinating performance conversations in Neogov
  • Managing new hire documentation and photos
  • Supporting FMLA, LWOP, STD, and termination processes with HR
  • Performing administrative projects and emergency reassignments as needed
Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four years' experience in clerical accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and timekeeping. Additional relevant education may substitute for experience. A background check is required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Four years in accounting principles and public agency payroll/timekeeping duties
  • Two years using Microsoft Office applications
  • Superior customer service skills with clear, friendly communication
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Working independently and collaboratively
  • Computer literacy and adaptability to new programs
