Job summary

Mosaic Consulting Group, based in Nashville, TN, is seeking a remote Payroll Consultant to join our team. You will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing for multiple clients across varying frequencies, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll delivery while managing client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for multiple clients with varying frequencies (weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly).
• Validate payroll data including earnings, deductions, taxes, and adjustments.
• Review and balance payroll prior to finalization and transmission.
• Manage off-cycle payrolls, bonuses, and adjustments as needed.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and delivered within client deadlines.
• Serve as primary payroll contact for assigned client portfolio.
• Communicate timelines, requirements, and issue resolutions clearly.
• Provide consultative support on payroll best practices and compliance.
• Maintain strong relationships and high client satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Support tax filings, amendments, and quarter/year-end activities (W-2s, 941s).
• Monitor changes in payroll legislation impacting clients.
• Audit payroll inputs/outputs for discrepancies.
• Investigate and resolve payroll errors, variances, and client inquiries.
• Partner with internal teams (tax, benefits, HRIS) for issue resolution.
• Utilize payroll systems (UKG Pro, ADP, Workday) to process payroll.
• Maintain and update payroll configurations, earnings/deductions, and employee data.

As a Payroll Consultant at Mosaic, you will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing for multiple clients across varying payroll frequencies (weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly). What you’ll do:
