Job description

Location: Remote (Latam Only)
Employment Type: Full-time, contract

About the Position

The Payroll Specialist is an individual contributor role on our Payroll team, focused on administering international payroll through CloudPay, our third party payroll processor. You'll serve as the primary point of contact with CloudPay, ensuring accurate data flow, running pre-payroll reports, verifying inputs, and reviewing payrolls before they're finalized. You'll also support the Payroll Lead with US and Canada payroll, which makes
up the bulk of our payroll volume. This is a high-volume, process-driven administrative role rather than a strategic one - accuracy, consistency, and follow-through matter most. You'll report to the Payroll Lead, with the reporting line and scope expected to evolve as you ramp up (typically within 6 months, though this can extend depending on progress).

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end payroll for salaried employees globally.
  • Assist in the year-end payroll process across all regions.
  • Support reconciliation processes and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Ensure smooth onboarding, offboarding, and changes in payroll, retirement, and benefit systems.
  • Update payroll records with changes in exemptions, benefit coverage, savings deductions, job titles, and
    department/division transfers.
  • Respond to employee inquiries about payroll procedures and benefits.
  • Assist with general ledger reconciliations and vacation accruals.
  • Stay updated on global tax and regulatory changes.
    Who You Are
You are analytical, detail-oriented, and accurate. You excel under pressure, can multitask, and thrive in a team
environment. If you are passionate about delivering a best-in-class employee experience, this is the role for you.
  • Knowledgeable: You have 3+ years of experience in payroll and benefits processing using in-house systems
like Workday or UKG. You are customer-focused, have a sense of urgency, and strive to exceed
    expectations daily.
  • Fast Learner: You adapt quickly to new systems and are committed to personal growth and development.
  • Organized: You are impeccably organized, constantly reassess priorities, meet all payroll deadlines, and
    ensure absolute confidentiality of data.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or equivalent
    experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant payroll experience in a diverse, complex operation; global payroll experience is an
asset. Canada and US payroll experience is a must.
  • Payroll certification required, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of payroll systems; experience with UKG or similar in-house systems.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs & Pivot Tables).
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong numeracy skills; passionate about numerical data and complex calculations.
  • Proficiency in English required.

  • Respond to employee inquiries about payroll procedures and benefits.

  • Complete training on each country's payroll process.

  • Manage end-to-end payroll for salaried employees globally.
