Job summary

The City of West Melbourne, FL is seeking a Payroll/Benefits Specialist to manage the full payroll cycle for all city employees and coordinate benefits across the employee lifecycle.

The role requires strong confidentiality, attention to detail, and effective communication with employees, retirees, and vendors, within a government setting and under the supervision of the Finance Director.

Qualifications

• Proficient in payroll processing and benefits administration.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal payroll laws and regulations.
• Experience with government payroll and benefits programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers full payroll cycle, data entry, time records audit, and final paychecks.
• Ensures compliance with policies, CBAs, and laws at all times.
• Maintains payroll and benefits records in financial and HR systems.
