Job summary

Hamilton Telecommunications in Aurora, NE is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to manage bi-weekly payroll for about 160 corporate employees and administer benefits programs.

You will ensure compliance with ACA, FLSA and FMLA, maintain accurate employee records, coordinate open enrollment and COBRA, and support HR reporting and audits while delivering accurate, confidential service to staff.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years HR admin, benefits and payroll experience.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local payroll and benefits laws.
• Experience with JD Edwards payroll system.
• Proficient in Excel for data analysis.
• Excellent communication and customer service.
• Ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for ~160 employees.
• Audit payroll records for accuracy of deductions, taxes and accruals.
• Maintain payroll data and employee records from supervisors and employees.
• Process new hires, terminations and job changes in HR systems.
• Plan and administer benefit programs, open enrollment, COBRA and 401(k) meetings.
• Process weekly benefit interface files with vendors and collaborate with them.
• Conduct benefit plan audits and respond to payroll/benefit questions.
• Handle unemployment claims and employment verifications.
• Prepare HR reports and required governmental reporting.
