Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells is seeking an experienced payroll and accounting professional to manage biweekly payroll, benefits administration, and general ledger support. The role requires accuracy, discretion, and strong communication with employees, department heads, vendors, and the public.

The position offers a comprehensive benefits package including Wisconsin State Retirement, vacation/sick time, holidays, and health insurance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting, finance, business administration, human resources, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Two years of payroll, accounting, benefits administration, or related experience preferred.
• Experience with Wisconsin Retirement System and ETF programs preferred.
• Municipal government experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with payroll and accounting software preferred.

Responsabilités

• Processes the City’s biweekly payroll accurately and timely.
• Reviews time records, leave, overtime, and payroll-related data.
• Calculates deductions including taxes, retirement, insurance, and garnishments.
• Maintains payroll records and prepares reports and journal entries.
• Assists with year-end payroll reporting and tax filings.
• Maintains benefit records and coordinates enrollment and changes.
• Assists with accounts payable, general ledger, and close procedures.
• Responds to employee and vendor questions regarding payroll and benefits.
