Job summary

Headfarmer, a fast-growing manufacturer of sustainable energy products, seeks a detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Specialist for a 300–400 employee operation in the Phoenix area. You will manage full-cycle payroll across shifts and support benefits administration 24/7 production environment.

The role requires accuracy, confidentiality, and knowledge of payroll laws, ACA, and relevant regulations. Bachelor's degree and 3+ years' payroll experience (manufacturing preferred) are expected, with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of full-cycle payroll experience (manufacturing preferred).
• Experience supporting 300+ employees strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of payroll laws, ACA, and benefits processes.
• Proficiency with payroll/HRIS systems (ADP, Paycom, Paychex, etc.)
• English/Mandarin proficiency strongly preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, 24-hour production environment.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
• Audit timecards, overtime, shift differentials, and incentive pay.
• Maintain payroll records, tax withholdings, garnishments, and direct deposits.
• Support benefits administration, including enrollments and employee questions.
• Assist with open enrollment, benefits billing, and vendor coordination.
• Ensure compliance with FLSA, ACA, and state/federal regulations.
• Provide responsive support to employees, supervisors, and HR partners.

This role manages full-cycle payroll and supports benefits administration for a 300–400-employee operation and is essential to accurate, timely payroll and strong employee support across multiple shifts. The Phoenix-area facility runs 24/7 with a diverse workforce and a strong culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do
