Job summary

The YMCA of Northwest North Carolina is seeking a knowledgeable Payroll Manager to oversee payroll processing, benefits administration, leave programs, and compliance. This role partners with HR and Finance to ensure accurate payroll, timely tax filings, and strong governance.

The position requires 3+ years in payroll, familiarity with HCMS, and a high level of confidentiality. Office-based role in Winston-Salem, NC with standard full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in payroll or closely related field.
• Experience with benefits administration and leave programs (FMLA, ADA, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, reporting, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for all staff (hourly, salaried, part-time, full-time) including deductions.
• Administer benefits programs and annual open enrollment; reconcile invoices and track contributions.
• Manage leave programs (FMLA, ADA, parental, etc.) and ensure accurate accruals and return-to-work procedures.
• Prepare and submit payroll and benefits reports, W-2s, ACA forms, and other compliance filings.
