Job summary

Forvis Mazars US Executive Search is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Accountant to manage full-cycle payroll and benefits accounting, including regulatory reporting and internal controls. The role includes handling multi-state payroll complexities and union-related costs under a CBA framework.

Responsibilities include journal entries, reconciliations, tax and benefit deductions, and supporting audits and month-/quarter-end closes. Travel to Orlando may be required for month-end activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA, CPP or equivalent preferred.
• 3+ years of experience with significant exposure to complex, multi-state payroll accounting.
• Familiarity with fringe benefit costs, pension obligations and union-related payroll and benefits accounts.

Responsibilities

• Manage payroll and benefits accounting, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and expense analysis.
• Reconcile payroll taxes, benefit deductions, garnishments and union benefits.
• Collaborate with Finance and HR to ensure accurate payroll and benefits administration and compliance with reporting requirements.
• Support audits, benefit plan reporting and month-/quarter-/year-end close activities.
