Job summary

Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) is seeking a Payroll & Accounts Receivable Manager to lead the Payroll & AR team, including staff supervision, training, and driving high-impact projects. You will balance daily operations with opportunities to enhance employer reporting and engagement across the unit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business or related field with five years of progressive experience.
• Post-secondary degree and seven years related work experience.
• Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision of Payroll & Accounts Receivable staff including assessing performance and work quality and coaching the team.
• Lead development, planning and execution of high-impact projects related to employer reporting and engagement.
• Oversee regular reconciliations of employer accounts and assist staff to ensure timely and accurate completions.
• Develop and maintain employer training presentations and resources to close gaps in educational materials.
• Prepare work papers, reports and analyses for audits and respond to findings with leadership.
