Job summary

MainePERS is hiring a Payroll & Accounts Receivable Manager in Augusta, ME for a full-time role. You will supervise Payroll & AR staff, lead high-impact projects, and ensure accurate reconciliations while collaborating across teams to improve processes and services for Maine public employees and employers.

The position emphasizes developing staff, solving problems, and balancing day-to-day operations with strategic initiatives, including audits and training resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business with five years of progressive experience
• Or post-secondary degree with seven years related work experience
• Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision of Payroll & Accounts Receivable staff, assess performance, coach and develop staff.
• Lead development, planning and execution of high-impact projects and initiatives related to employer reporting and engagement.
• Oversee regular reconciliations of employer accounts and assist staff to ensure timely, accurate reconciliations.
