Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake is seeking an Accounting Operations Specialist to support payroll, billing, accounts receivable, and accounting operations. This role ensures employees are paid accurately and on time while managing contracts, invoicing, and financial recordkeeping.

The ideal candidate is organized, maintains confidentiality, and can manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Strong Excel and payroll software experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum one year of office or administrative experience required.
• Experience with payroll, billing, or finance preferred.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now and Sage Intacct preferred.

Responsabilités

• Process biweekly payroll accurately and on schedule.
• Verify payroll information including pay rates, changes, deductions, and terminations.
• Process payroll adjustments, retroactive pay, and corrections.
• Prepare and review payroll reports and deduction reports.
• Generate and distribute monthly contract invoices and maintain billing documentation.
• Record customer payments and apply cash receipts to contract accounts.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on balances.
• Assist with payroll and billing inquiries from employees and customers.
• Maintain confidential payroll, financial, and employee information.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
