Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Northeast Ohio and Northwest Pennsylvania is seeking a Bookkeeper to support the CFO in bookkeeping and payroll within the Accounting/Finance Department. The role handles accounts payable, receivable, payroll processing, and reporting to HR and Finance.

The ideal candidate has a four-year degree in business or accounting (or 5 years relevant experience), strong knowledge of GAAP, confidentiality, and proficiency in QuickBooks and Paycom Payroll. Join a mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in business management, accounting or related field.
• Minimum five years of relevant bookkeeping experience.
• Proven experience with GAAP and financial reporting.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with laws (HIPAA, DOL, FLSA).
• Proficient in MS Office and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, AR, billing, credits, collections, inventory, fixed assets, cost accounting, and payroll.
• Interface with vendors, customers, auditors, banks, insurers, and payment processors as needed.
• Prepare biweekly payroll, payroll reports and payroll tax returns; coordinate with HR on 1099s and year-end reporting.
• Prepare monthly sales tax returns and maintain financial files.
• Support HR and Finance with reports and data as requested.
• Assist with other duties and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
