Job summary

Randstad USA in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced payroll professional for a full-time, on-site contract role. You will handle end-to-end payroll processing with 3+ years in-house experience in a large company, and strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP). Candidates with vendor-management only experience (e.g., ADP) will not be a fit.

You must be detail-oriented, able to work overtime as needed, and ready to make an immediate impact on payroll accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of in-house payroll processing experience in a large company.
• Proficient in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP).
• Experience with SAP payroll module.
• Experience with multi-frequency payrolls.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end processing of multi-frequency union and non-union payrolls
• Audit and reconcile HR and payroll data
• Ensure data compliance with federal, state and local tax regulations including multistate taxation rules
• Reconcile payroll integration and bank files
• Provide timely and compliant response and set up of employee garnishments
• Provide ad hoc reports to internal customers as required
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, providing timely and accurate information and resolving discrepancies
• Keep abreast of payroll related regulations
• Build and maintain relationships with business partners including Human Resources and IT
• Provide testing support for system upgrades and periodic tax updates
• Special projects as assigned
