Job summary

Kforce is seeking a Payroll Analyst in Glen Burnie, MD to support payroll processing, auditing, reporting, and compliance activities. You will analyze payroll data to ensure accurate and timely processing and assist with reconciliations and month-end close.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, HR, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of payroll, payroll accounting, or related experience.
• Experience with payroll reconciliations, reporting, and data analysis.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, regulations, and compliance.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables and lookups.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and validate payroll data for accuracy and compliance.
• Support payroll processing activities including earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, and adjustments.
• Audit payroll transactions and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare payroll reconciliations, journal entries, and schedules.
• Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and resolve variances.
• Generate payroll reports, analytics, and workforce metrics.
• Assist with payroll tax reporting, compliance, and audits.
• Research and resolve employee payroll inquiries.
• Support month-, quarter-, and year-end payroll activities.
• Collaborate with HR, Benefits, Finance, and Accounting to ensure data accuracy.
• Maintain payroll documentation and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to automate payroll reporting and processes.
