A rapidly expanding organization in the consumer sector is seeking a Payroll Analyst to join its U.S. payroll team. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll operations across a multi‑state employee population. The role is based onsite four days per week, with remote work on Fridays.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Operations
- Process weekly or bi‑weekly payrolls for exempt and non‑exempt employees across multiple states
- Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, tax updates, benefit deductions, direct deposits, and status changes
- Review and process timesheets, adjustments, retroactive payments, and special payroll transactions
- Generate and distribute employee payments
- Support payroll reconciliations and reporting for internal teams
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
Equity and Special Payroll Transactions
- Assist with payroll activities related to equity compensation, including RSU vesting and stock option exercises
- Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate taxation and reporting of equity‑related payroll impacts
- Support bonus cycles, annual salary adjustments, and year‑end payroll processing
Compliance and Analysis
- Analyze complex pay scenarios and identify discrepancies
- Investigate payroll issues and collaborate with internal teams to determine root causes
- Implement corrective actions and process improvements to reduce future errors
- Process garnishments and other legally required deductions
Systems and Process Improvement
- Utilize enterprise payroll systems, with a strong preference for experience in Oracle Fusion Payroll
- Participate in system testing, enhancements, and documentation
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to streamline payroll workflows
- Support internal and external audits
- Build effective working relationships across HR, Finance, Accounting, Payroll Tax, and external vendors
- Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- APA certification (CPP or FPC) preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of multi‑state payroll experience in a high‑volume environment
- Experience with equity‑related payroll transactions is a plus
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax compliance
- Experience with enterprise payroll systems, ideally Oracle Fusion
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
- High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Experience with global payroll considerations is beneficial
