Job Summary
The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for ongoing administration of payroll generation/balancing, internal and external reporting, time and labor analysis, and records retention. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this person will ensure delivery, communication, and administration of payroll programs are supported and completed effectively and in a timely manner.
Job Responsibilities
- Administers full‑cycle payroll processing, from time entry through payroll staging and post‑payroll processing for weekly payroll cycles.
- Produce payments for PRAs, travel expenses, paid time off, and shortages.
- Achieve timely resolution of employee payroll issues, including paycheck distribution and employee questions.
- Build ongoing internal and external client service relationships for all payroll related matters.
- Maintain payroll records and reports, export and import data, and process override deductions.
- Remain knowledgeable of current and changing laws and regulations affecting local, state, and overall U.S. payroll administration.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of all Company plans, programs, and benefits as they relate to payroll administration.
- Assist in the completion of 940/941 quarterly tax reports, state unemployment tax reporting, and weekly federal tax deposits.
- Perform special projects and assignments as required.
- Prepare and submit weekly certified payroll reports and other documentation as required per contract specifications.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field of study, or high school diploma/GED with equivalent work experience.
- Certified Payroll Professional preferred.
Experience
- 3–5 years of payroll administration experience.
- Relevant industry experience in commercial, residential, and multifamily construction preferred.
- Hands‑on experience with JD Edwards Enterprise One a plus.
- Familiarity with prevailing wage and certified payroll job requirements and reporting preferred.
- In‑depth knowledge of the FLSA, and DOL/IRS guidelines and regulations; ability to interpret and apply those to ongoing payroll administration efforts.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines.
Skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

- Knowledge of construction certified payroll.
