Qualifications

• Educational background should include High School Diploma and either college or technical training or equivalent years accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (especially Excel) and interfaced systems experience (payroll, general accounting, accounts payable, inventories, purchasing).
• Good communication skills (written and oral), interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and self-motivation.

Responsibilities

• Process hourly payroll edits and transmission in the e-Labor system and ensure compliance with union contract.
• Close payroll and transmit hours weekly; verify data with accounting personnel.
• Prepare payroll reports and vacation payments; handle check issues and direct deposits.
• Maintain awareness of union contract rules for hourly payroll processing.
• Support month-end closing and payroll variance reviews.
• Perform other accounting tasks: journal entries, cost analysis, and reports as needed.
