Job summary

Packaging-Corporation-of-America seeks a Senior Accounting Associate to maintain accounting records and prepare timely reports in line with GAAP and company policies. This role requires accurate posting to the general ledger, payroll processing support, and collaboration with the Controller to close monthly figures.

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to a high school diploma required.
• Three years’ experience in accounting with GL, payroll and/or AP exposure.
• Experience using automated accounting/payroll system.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Associates degree or college accounting coursework preferred.

Responsibilities

• Post entries to the general ledger and balance accounts.
• Process accounts payable transactions and batch payments.
• Post, audit and collect accounts receivable transactions.
• Follow up on customer accounts for credits and collections.
• Support weekly hourly payroll processing.
• Assist with month-end closings for the plant.
• Issue daily financial reports and discrepancies to Controller.
• Maintain accounting and payroll files and backups.
• Provide general administrative support and file management.
• Respond to corporate requests and ensure timely submissions.
