Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking a Senior Accounting Associate to maintain accounting records and deliver timely reports in line with GAAP and company policies. The role will manage general ledger postings, accounts payable/receivable activities, and payroll support at a manufacturing plant.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or better, 3+ years in accounting, and strong Excel skills, with preferred CADIAN/Dayforce payroll experience and an Associates degree or

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to high school diploma required.
• Three (3) years' previous work experience in a business office / accounting function with exposure to general ledger, payroll, and/or accounts payable functions.
• Previous experience using automated accounting/payroll system.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Post entries accurately to the general ledger and balance accounts.
• Process accounts payable transactions including batch payments.
• Post and collect accounts receivable transactions and make adjustments as needed.
• Support the processing of weekly hourly payroll.
• Assist in month-end closings of the financials for the plant.
• Maintain accounting and payroll files and backup documentation.
