Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting or related field required.
• Two years' payroll, financial accounting, or financial reporting experience.
• Workday experience preferred; other automated payroll systems acceptable.
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Process multi-state payroll cycles with data entry and verification.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors for payroll processing.
• Analyze, audit and reconcile payroll data for accuracy.
• Prepare journal entries and reconcile payroll sub-ledger to general ledger.
• Perform additional duties to complete primary responsibilities.

Position Description:

To ensure accurate and timely pay to all employees with appropriate deductions and withholding in compliance with company policy, and federal, state, and IRS regulations.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Administers all necessary steps to process a complete multi-state payroll cycle including data entry and data verification as well as balancing of time and attendance data.
• Communicates and assists with third party vendor processing of payroll.
• Assists with analyzing, auditing, and reconciling to ensure accurate payroll processing.
• Provides research and recommendations to ensure payroll reporting and payments are compliant with company policy, collective bargaining agreements, generally accepted accounting principles, and federal, state and IRS regulations for the company and its affiliates.
• Prepares journal entries and reconciles payroll sub-ledger reporting to general ledger.
• Perform other related assigned duties as necessary to complete the Primary Job Responsibilities as described above.

Minimum Requirements:

• Position requires an associate’s degree in accounting or a related field; FPC Fundamental Payroll Certification preferred; two years' experience in payroll, financial accounting, or financial reporting.
• Workday experience is preferred.
• Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
• Position requires effective verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and problem solving skills and knowledge of automated payroll systems as well as knowledge of basic Microsoft Excel and Word functionality.
