Job summary

McCarl's Technical Services LLC is seeking a Payroll Accountant to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing and compliance with federal, state, local, union, and company requirements. You will collaborate with Operations, Human Resources, and the Finance Team to ensure payroll-related transactions are properly recorded, reconciled, and compliant.

The role also focuses on identifying payroll issues and driving process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of payroll taxes and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with union payroll, fringe benefits, and prevailing wage requirements.
• Experience with Vista by Viewpoint or similar ERP systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll for union and non-union employee groups.
• Review time entries, pay rates, deductions, and earnings for accuracy.
• Process payroll adjustments, retroactive payments, corrections, and terminations.
• Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation.
• Administer garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and other deductions.
• Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, CBAs, and company policies.
• Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and analyze variances.
• Assist with close activities and prepare payroll-related schedules for reporting.
• Maintain payroll burden calculations and labor allocation methods.
