LHH is partnering with an established financial institution in Downtown Manhattan to recruit a Payroll Accountant on an open-ended contract with potential to convert to a permanent role.

You will process biweekly payroll, verify hours and deductions, maintain records, handle commissions and bonuses, and support month-end close and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of payroll and accounting experience.
• Hands-on experience with Paychex or a similar payroll system.
• Knowledge of payroll compliance, reconciliations, journal entries, and general accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and vlookups.

Responsibilities

• Complete payroll reconciliations, reporting, and audit support as needed.
• Record payroll-related accounting activity through journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Support month-end close, financial reporting, and variance analysis.

Schedule:

• 4 days per week in-office, 1 day remote (Financial District)

$27–$36/hour

Pay Details: $27.00 to $36.00 per hour
