Job summary

Mizuho Americas is seeking a Payment Platform Implementation Engineer to design, build, and support scalable payment processing and settlement platforms across channels. You will partner with business, operations, product, and technology teams to deliver secure, resilient solutions and support high‑value payments in a hybrid work environment.

The role emphasizes strong Java development, APIs, and database skills, with exposure to SWIFT, FED, ACH and other global channels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Hands-on experience with payment STP: initiation, validation, enrichment, routing, settlement, exception handling, and status reporting.
• Strong Java development experience with practical knowledge of APIs, microservices, scripting, databases, and production-grade support.
• Experience with payment platforms, financial messaging, clearing and settlement processes, or banking tech environments preferred.
• Eligibility to work in the local market.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and services for payment processing, settlement workflows, and transaction banking across channels.
• Build and integrate APIs, microservices, and event-driven components enabling secure, scalable payment orchestration, routing, and status tracking.
• Develop scripts and automation utilities for deployment, data analysis, operational support, monitoring, reconciliation, and controlled production activities.
• Design, query, and optimize relational databases supporting payments, reference data, audit trails, and settlement reporting.
• Collaborate with business, operations, risk, compliance, infrastructure, and vendor teams to translate payment-domain requirements into reliable solutions with controls.
• Support testing, defect resolution, code reviews, release management, and production readiness for payment platforms.
