Job summary

Salmon is seeking a Software Developer (Kotlin/Java) to join our Payments Platform team in a fully remote role. You will build scalable JVM microservices with Spring Boot and durable workflows to support fast-moving financial services.

You’ll own payment flows end to end, integrate new providers, and collaborate with product, QA, security, and operations to release changes under shared standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development on the JVM with Kotlin as an advantage.
• Experience with Spring Boot in a microservice environment.
• Experience with domain-driven design and eventual consistency.
• Experience with payments, banking, or transactional/financial systems.
• Understanding of idempotency, retries, and timeouts in money flows.
• Agile work style with CI/CD and deployment practices.
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes; AWS preferred).
• Interest in knowledge sharing within the team.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable JVM microservices with Spring Boot as part of the Banking product team.
• Design payment services with an emphasis on DDD, eventual consistency, and resilience.
• Collaborate with product, QA, security, and operations to release changes.
• Own the design, build, and maintenance of software components for Core Engineering.
• Design and evolve payment flows end-to-end and integrate new providers.
