Gusto, Inc. is seeking a Payment Operations Analyst to own end-to-end payment workflows across ACH, exceptions, refunds, and reconciliation. You’ll partner with Engineering, Product, Accounting, Risk, and CX to improve reliability and scale as the payment surface expands.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in payment operations, banking ops, treasury ops, or fintech related roles.
• Strong analytical instincts with data querying or structuring ability.
• Clear written and verbal communication with engineers and partners.
• Experience with bank portals, payment processors, or reconciliation tools.
• Willingness to build AI into workflows and adapt to evolving tech.
• Knowledge of Nacha rules, money transmission, or unclaimed property is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payment workflows (ACH, exceptions, refunds, re-debits, reconciliation) and drive root-cause fixes.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and CX to shape payment systems and launches.
• Capture and act on customer pain signals to improve payment flows.
• Understand system-wide impact and communicate across cross-functional teams.
• Triage issues with domestic and international bank/payment partners and drive resolutions.
• Lead with AI to speed analysis, communications, and automation initiatives.
