Responsibilities
Under minimal supervision, the Payment Systems Specialist will:
- Process Deposits, Consumer Loan and Mortgage Remittance processing
- Balance and settle the remittance extract and posting files, post general ledger entries
- Monitor and review Mobile Deposit Check (RDC); approve or return unacceptable check images within established timeframe
- Maintain daily production tracking reports/logs, as required
- Participate in departmental cross‑training member support areas, including assigned projects implementations
- Maintain knowledge proficiency of equipment application resources
- Serve as a primary source for all inquiries pertaining to assigned tasks
- Review, edit and publish new procedures as required to reflect internal enhancements and regulatory changes
- Respond to Synapsys Events, DTS and other Payment Systems member inquiries
- Serve as Disaster Recovery Support Team Member as needed, according to qualifications
- Remain cognizant of Electronic Check Image Exchange regulatory and industry changes; internal product features and benefits, including new product implementations
- Adhere to Andrews Federal Employee policies and procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent required (high school diploma or GED equivalent, or higher)
- 2–3 years of financial institution experience, preferably in ACH, Check and Back Office Electronic Payment Processing
- Basic mathematical skills required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products and spreadsheet skills
- High attention to detail, accuracy and high quality a must
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
Physical Requirements
Requires the ability to sit at a desk and computer for extended periods of time. Requires the usage of a 10‑key calculator and computer keyboard.
