Job summary

U.S. Bank is offering a Payments Internship designed to kickstart your career in a dynamic financial services area. The 10-week, paid program is based in Minneapolis or Chicago.

You’ll support client relationships, learn payments solutions, and work with teams across product, analytics, marketing, and risk to deliver value. You’ll gain hands-on experience in consultative sales, client discovery, and relationship management while developing business acumen and industry knowledge under mentorship

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree with a target graduation date of December 2027 or Spring 2028.
• Coursework in business, finance, economics, marketing, communications, sales, data analytics, MIS, or related field, and/or ability to apply knowledge to financial-services environment.
• Interest in sales, customer experience, relationship management, payments, banking, fintech, or business development.
• Ability to start the internship on June 7, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Support consultative sales activities, including market and prospect research, customer discovery preparation, opportunity identification, and development of client recommendations.
• Analyze industry and client data to identify trends, needs, and potential opportunities; leverage AI models to segment clients, predict behaviors, and personalize service delivery.
• Assist with development of presentations, proposals, sales materials, and business cases that communicate the value of payment solutions.
• Partner with sales and cross-functional teams to understand how opportunities progress from discovery to implementation and ongoing relationship support.
• Develop relationship-building, communication, and payments industry knowledge through training and mentorship.
