Job summary

Dignity Health Medical Group is seeking a Payment Recovery Specialist to review records for coding errors and correct codes in the billing system to support reimbursement. You will analyze complex data daily and stay current with coding standards and regulations to ensure accurate billing and compliant processes.

You will identify payer trends, manage denials, and communicate findings to management, using Centricity to analyze data and support proper billing practices.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years prior experience in medical coding and/or billing for physician office services.
• Proficiency assigning ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and related credentials (CPC-HA, CPCA, CCA, CCC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA).
• Ability to read and comprehend an EOB and understand payer contracts and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review records for coding errors and correct diagnostic and procedural codes for reimbursement.
• Analyze and interpret complex data related to coding denials and reimbursement trends.
• Identify and communicate payer/system trends to Management and ensure compliant billing.
• Utilize Centricity and related modules to analyze denials and support billing procedures.
• Manage and correct denied claims for coding issues to facilitate payment and resolution.
