The role leads daily payment processing, coordinates cross-functional collaboration with Risk, Compliance, Technology, and Treasury, and ensures timely, accurate processing in line with bank policies and regulatory requirements.

You will mentor Payment Operations Specialists and Analysts, oversee workflows, and drive improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience in Financial Services, Payment Operations, Banking Operations or similar field.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Previous leadership experience preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of banking operations, regulatory and legal compliance obligations.
• Experience leading or coordinating payment operations workflow in a banking/financial services environment; oversight of daily workflows, escalations and controls.
• Experience supporting compliance, audit, or risk management in payment processing; contributing to procedure development and quality review.
• Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.

Payment Operations Team Lead

What you'll do:

The Payment Operations Team Lead supports enterprise payment operations by leading the daytoday execution of payment processing activities across multiple payment rails, ensuring service levels, controls, and team performance expectations are met. This role is primarily responsible for overseeing daily workflows, managing escalations, and ensuring the team processes payment activity accurately, timely, and in compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements. The role provides direct support to Payment Operations Specialists, Senior Specialists, and Analysts, while partnering with internal stakeholders such as Risk, Compliance, Technology, and Treasury Management to resolve issues and support operational execution. This position is combines handson subject matter expertise with responsibility for work direction, coaching, quality oversight, and daytoday operational decisionmaking.

• Responsible for supporting the Payment Operations team by coordinating, assigning, and monitoring daily work across payment processing activities to ensure deadlines, service levels, and operational priorities are met.


• Balance workloads, manage coverage, and oversee department opening and closing activities as applicable. Serve as the primary escalation point for complex payment issues, customer concerns, and timesensitive decisions, including approval of nonstandard items or work near cutoff times.


• Ensure appropriate documentation, risk awareness, and adherence to approval limits. Provide ongoing guidance, coaching, and training to team members; document errors or trends and support quality review activities.


• Partner with management on performance feedback, development needs, and corrective action escalation when required. Ensure team adherence to regulatory, compliance, fraud, and risk controls.


• Support audits, reporting, and control testing, and contribute to procedure development, maintenance, and process improvements that enhance efficiency or reduce risk.

What you'll need:

• 5+ years of related experience in Financial Services, Payment Operations, Banking Operations or similar field.


• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.


• Previous leadership experience preferred.


• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.


• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.


• Intermediate to advanced experience leading or coordinating payment operations workflow in a banking or financial services environment, including oversight of daily workflows, escalations, approvals, and adherence to operational controls across multiple payment rails.


• Intermediate to advanced experience supporting compliance, audit, or risk management activities related to payment processing, as well as contributing to procedure development, quality review, and continuous improvement initiatives.


• Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.


• Highly Preferred: Accredited ACH Professional, Accredited Payments Risk Professional, Accredited Faster Payment Professional, National Check Professional.

Compensation: Hourly range for new hires is generally $35.14 - $43.40 for Henderson, NV. Salary amount is determined by specific job location. In addition, the role may be eligible for annual bonus/incentives earned and restricted stock.
