Job summary

Langley Federal Credit Union is hiring a Payments Operations Representative for a hybrid role based at our Newport News City Center Headquarters in Newport News, VA. The position supports the Payment Operations area, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and high-quality member service.

Responsibilities include processing ACH/wire transactions, origination requests, check and remote deposit items, fraud reviews, and coordination with the Federal Reserve.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience with a financial institution is required.
• Demonstrates service orientation and commitment to member satisfaction.
• Keeps pace with changes in regulations and industry guidelines.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with vendors.

Responsibilities

• Process moderate to complex ACH and wire transactions in compliance with federal regulations and deadlines.
• Process ACH Origination requests.
• Repair and process check and remote deposit capture items for posting.
• Review outcomes of payment exceptions per applicable rules.
• Review fraud and forgery claims and adjustments for all payment channels.
• Balance settlement and activity for general ledger accounts.
• Submit and approve files to the Federal Reserve.
• Handle member service cases via phone, CRM, online banking, and email.
• Participate in ongoing education on relevant laws and guidelines.

Langley Federal Credit Union is currently hiring for a Payments Operations Representative to work a hybrid schedule from our Newport News City Center Headquarters, located in Newport News, VA.

Job Summary:

The Payment Operations Representative serves as the primary resource for the Payment Operations area within the Operations department. The Payment Operations Representative offers expertise and support for staff and members and serves as Subject Matter Experts for organizational projects. They are required to understand applicable regulations and requirements to meet compliance standards. Reviews and completes a variety of requests received from staff and members within identified service level expectations.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

Completes necessary functions of the Payment Operations area of the Operations department.

• Processes moderately complex ACH and wire transactions in compliance with federal regulations, internal guidelines, and within established deadlines.
• Process and complete ACH Origination requests.
• Repairs and processes check and remote deposit capture items for posting.
• Reviews and determines outcome of all Payments exceptions in accordance with applicable compliance rules and regulations.
• Review and process fraud and forgery claims and adjustments for all payment channels in accordance with applicable network compliance rules and regulations.
• Balance settlement and activity for general ledger accounts.
• Submit and approve files to the Federal Reserve.
• Review and process service cases pertaining to member requests.Apply and communicate knowledge of regulatory requirements, practices, and changes to legislation.
• Fosters teamwork by professionally interacting with peers, supervisors, vendors, and Langley employees.
• Provides internal and external members impeccable service by phone, Customer Relationship Management cases, Online Banking messaging, and email.
• Participates in continued education in accordance with applicable federal, state, and industry laws, regulations, and guidelines.

• Two years of experience with a financial institution required.
