Job summary

Ivy Health in the United States is seeking a Payer Specialist to support billing and payer communications. This remote role reports to the Revenue Cycle Business Partner and focuses on timely billing, payer verifications, and denial prevention.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, at least three years in healthcare payer environments, and proficient MS Office skills. Experience with EMR systems, especially Raintree, is a plus.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in healthcare payer environment.
• Computer skills using Outlook, Word, Excel and Access.
• Excellent oral communication skills and phone presence.
• Understanding of quality customer service.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work with urgency.
• Experience with EMR systems; Raintree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely billing for all payers within region, including secondary billing.
• Maintain accurate notes and communication in the patient’s ledger/chart.
• Verify insurance information and address discrepancies with PC.
• Collaborate to maintain denial prevention methods.
• Follow up on AR by insurance to get claims processed or appealed.
• Communicate with payers via phone, email, or other means.
• Manage third-party vendor to ensure claims are paid.
• Research, setup, and test new payer information for contracts and filing requirements.
• Track and resolve discrepancies based on partial payments and contracts.
• Assist PCs and patients with billing questions.
• Work with users across the company to resolve issues.
• Prepare reports as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

As a Payer Specialist, you will play a crucial role in our mission to help enable people to live their lives to the fullest.Job Description:Payor SpecialistThe Payer Specialist will report to the Revenue Cycle Business Partner and is an integral member of the Revenue Cycle Team.
