Job summary

Pet Supplies Plus in Auburn, AL is seeking a hands-on Assistant Store Team Leader to guide daily store operations, engage neighbors and manage a small team. You will lead by example, promote exceptional service, and help grow sales and neighbor engagement through collaborative planning with the Store Team Leader.

The role requires 2+ years of leadership in retail, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience leading a retail team.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; high school diploma/GED required.
• Microsoft Office knowledge is a must; good communication skills.
• Ability to operate equipment (including forklift) and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Flexible schedules, reliable transportation, and ability to pass a drug test; must be 18+.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operational management of the store.
• Adhere to policies for cleanliness, animal care, safety and security.
• Promote team engagement and morale; recognize and reward performance.
• Help maintain a fully staffed team and assist in recruiting/onboarding.
• Provide onboarding and development opportunities with coaching and feedback.
• Engage with community organizations for events and marketing.
