Job summary

Pet Supplies Plus is seeking an Assistant Store Team Leader to guide store operations, engage neighbors and their pets, and drive sales in a friendly, pet-centric environment.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of retail leadership, a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, strong Microsoft Office and communication skills, and the ability to operate store equipment (including a forklift) and lift up to 50 pounds. Flexible schedules and reliable transportation are expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience leading a retail team.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; High school diploma/GED required.
• Microsoft Office knowledge and good communication skills.
• Ability to operate all equipment, including a forklift, to run the store; lift up to 50 pounds; flexible schedules; 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the operational management of the stores.
• Adhering to operational policies and procedures for exceptional neighborly service.
• Promoting team member engagement and morale; recognizing and rewarding performance.
• Assist in maintaining a fully staffed team and supports recruiting and onboarding.
• Cultivating a learning culture with onboarding and development opportunities, coaching and feedback.
• Connecting with community organizations to partner on events and marketing opportunities.
