Job summary

Velocity Staffing, Fate, TX, is seeking an Assistant Store Team Leader to support the Store Team Leader in daily operations, lead the team by example, and deliver exceptional neighborly service to customers and their pets.

You will assist customers in selecting products, help improve store performance, and participate in hiring and coaching activities. This role requires at least 2 years in retail leadership and the ability to lift up to 65 lbs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail or customer-facing leadership experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred (High School Diploma/GED accepted).
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to lift up to 65 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support and lead the team by example, delivering neighborly service.
• Help greet neighbors and their pets and create a welcoming in-store experience.
• Assist customers in choosing products for their pets’ needs.
• Support store performance including sales, engagement, and productivity.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, and developing a strong team.
• Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-run store environment including animal care.
• Build relationships within the community and support local events.
• Help create a fun, positive culture for pets and people.
