Job summary

Carolina Asphalt is hiring a skilled Paving Equipment Operator to operate machinery used in asphalt road and lot construction. The role requires safe operation of paving equipment such as asphalt pavers, rollers, skid steers, and milling machines.

The ideal candidate has road construction experience, attention to detail, and a strong safety mindset. You will work with the paving crew to ensure even asphalt distribution, proper compaction, and a smooth finish while following project

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating paving or heavy equipment preferred
• Ability to work in outdoor environments
• Good communication and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy equipment including Backhoes, Pavers, Skid steers and Rollers as needed
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report issues promptly
• Load, unload, and position equipment on job sites safely
• Assist paving crew to ensure even asphalt distribution and proper compaction
• Follow grade markers and layout specs to achieve desired slope and thickness
• Maintain control of speed, feed, and depth of material application
